Speaker cab dilemma

Question

I'm shopping for a speaker cab, but I'm debating on whether I should get it with the big, recessed, Marshall-type handles, or just get smaller, simple recessed 'slot' grab-hold types. I HATE metal handles that are mounted on the outside and fold down on the side, as I've mashed my fingers more than once on those, so those are OUT. Edited to add: no strap-type handles, either. I'm looking at 2x12 types so it won't be too terribly heavy, but I'm curious about the effect of taking out a lot of wood for the Marshall-type handles on the sound of the cabinet. Strength-wise, I don't think it'll make much difference. Opinions? TIA!

I own one of the Bogner 2x12s. These cabs have the smaller, inset metal handles, more square than the larger rectangular ones on the 4x12s. I can't speak about the missing wood thing...I'd wager as long as they're screwed in tightly and are a snug fit, you probably won't hear much tone loss.

Avatar makes a very nice version of this cab, too.

This Sourmash Marshall-style 2x12 seems like a good deal. I've heard good things about their stuff.

I've heard many, many, many, standard and boutique 2x12 cabs and the one I thought had the identity crisis of sounding like a 4x12 was a closed-back Orange 16 ohm cab with Vintage 30s. The thing sounds huge!

I will rephrase...will cutting big holes in cabinets for handles affect the sound, even though said handles are sealed, and the cabinet is still closed from the outside? Will even small recessed handles affect the sound?
