I used to save interesting auctions by pasting them into a word document and it just so happened I saved this one. It was located in Devon and sold on 04/22/2005 for 6000 pounds which was $10,626. Seller's handle was "eeseekim" and buyer "blakehazzard."

Here's the auction description:

Built by Paul Hamer in the mid 1970's this is a rare opportunity to invest in a unique instrument. Believed to be the first numbered Hamer guitar, Although a prototype was built before and 0001 is believed to be a bass. This instrument was sold new to Martin Barre of Jethro Tull who played it only on studio albums, but never toured with it, hence it being in mint condition, further to this Martin Barre has agreed to provide paperwork directly to the purchaser of this unique instrument. I Purchased the guitar recently and will sell this historically important guitar with it's original hard case. The sunburst finish has aged beautifully, this instrument can only increase in value. As an added bonus Martin Barre has agreed to hand over the guitar in person to the winner of this Auction .... Happy bidding !!

I need to store that story for when it comes to sell mine. It's from the 2nd Jol area, the time listing prices were up to 4k, one of the last stock built Standards with solid one piece mahogany body, right before Hamer decided to stop building stock guitars. Yes, it is.
