NGD - Oktober XP

A long time friend of mine has a guitar company called Oktober Guitars, based in Ellicott City, MD. He does custom builds, repairs and has recently gotten into designing his own line of guitars, made in Korea. He does signature models for Doyle Von Frankenstein of The Misfits as well as signature guitar and bass for the guys in Anvil. The signature Anvil bass is a 12 string.

I went by his shop Friday to take a look and was pretty blown away by the various models that just arrived. I ended up taking one of his "XP" models, which is a non-recessed Floyd Special-equipped explorer type body. Bound mahogany neck/body, premium ebony fretboard with diamond inlays, and Oktober "Blockhead" pickups (passive Alnico Vs). It sounds and plays incredible, and IMO is a total no brainer for $625. This particular model also comes in a tobaccoburst quilt top.

I'm not sure how Tony pulled these off at that price. The electronics and everything seem to be top notch.

You can get some sweet deals in Korea. That's a beauty for sure!

I've scoped out his "pointy" creations before, love the CNC stuff he does.
