Multiple Speaker Cabs

I'm a little confused. When combining a 16 ohm cab with another 16 ohm cab via a standard speaker cable is it wired in series or parallel? My cab has two quarter inch jacks on the back for this purpose. So I'm thinking if I add another identical cab and run a cable from one cab to the other and the amp to one cab then I have just cut the ohms to 8. Is this correct?

Thanks

p.s.. I tried googling it but just got info on wiring multiple speakers in the same cab.

That sounds correct, but the only way to tell for sure is to wire them together and Take a meter and check the ohms rating....8 ohms will read about 6.2 ohms DC resistance.

Most cabs like you describe are wired in parallel so 8 ohms should be the result.
