how strat-y is a Mirage I?

I've never tried a Mirage I and I miss having a single coil guitar around. I'm not a bolt-on fan so an actual strat isn't appealing (go figure!). So I'm wondering how close in sound to a strat is a stock Mirage I? I'm guessing the humbuckers don't quite get there. Anyone swapped out the humbuckers for single coils to get closer to 'the' sound. Thanks for your input!

Anybody?

If you want the best take Hamer ever did on a Strat, you should try a T-62. It will become your best friend....though you may need to put more muscular pickups in it.

They certainly look the coolest, but I've preferred the Daytona's I've owned to the T62's.
