DavidE Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Wait for the roadie to show up with the amps and other big gear....Wait for him to unload and get everything on the stage...Wait for the soundman to mic things up...Then I go to set up my pedalboard and the Line6 Delay modeler is dead. No lights. Nothing. Everything else on the board works. A little detective work and I find the power jack is completely loose. Hopefully I'll be able to open it up and resolder it to the circuit board myself.Fortunately I had my little Guyatone delay in a bag. It's scratched up to hell but it sure worked fine last night! I missed the tap tempo a bit and having instant access to 3 delay settings, but it sure did in a pinch!Time to rip apart the pedal board and see how it goes.Sigh...
savethematches Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 If that's the worst that happened, you're cruising! We got to a gig one night and our idiot singer had put my Marshall on top of a stack of gear at the front of the trailer. Needless to say that I found it on the floor. It fell at least four feet. Other than a missing knob, it performed well. Good thing, we were three hours away from home and I had no backup.
Hamer95USA Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Hello DavidE, I feel your pain about the DL4 not working right before a gig. At least you had a backup delay pedal. I was performing at a gig about a month ago and my ADA MP-1 guitar preamp started crapping out on me during the set. I had to smack the top of my gear rack for it to kick in. It totally sucked!! I took it apart the next day and retubed it. It seemed to help, but it started doing it again at the next gig. I finally saved up the cash and sent it to ADA Depot to have it refurbished and upgraded. It's not fun having gear go down before a show and stressing out about equipment whether it will work or not. I bring my Tubeman guitar preamp as a backup now. I'm not taking chances again. Guitar George
kurtsstuff Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 I think the worst thing that ever happened to me was.....after driving all day to get to the gig.....we start setting up and much to my amazement...we forgot our sound board!!!!! (mixer) now....how the hell that happened i dont know but....we pulled it off using the monitor mixer as our house mix and a backup guitar amp head for out monitor mix whew!!...then there's the story about our drummer who had his head up his ass over some broad and he forgot his cymbals.....yeah....he did'nt get paid....lol
DavidE Posted March 14, 2005 Author Posted March 14, 2005 I took the pedal apart. The housing of the power jack is cracked. I emailed Line6 to get a replacement part. My Boss DD5 and tap tempo pedal are on the board.
