carfish7 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 What is the fix when the intonation location holes are done in?Thanks.
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 You mean on the baseplate right? Either get the threads redone 0.5mm wider & replace the allen bolts with 3mm (if originals are 2.5mm) or you need a new baseplate (if you can find one). Getting a new/replacement baseplate is the easier option. Ebay might be worth a look...
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 This may help http://audiozone.dk/index-filer/floyd-tremolo-tips.htm#helicoil
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Is this any good? http://www.rockinger.com/index.php?cat=WG075&product=1637C%2F1637S%2F1637G&sid3=925913514d0e7deff51f60389ec58daa
carfish7 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Thanks for that - I would think the Heli-Coil would be the ticket.
Studio Custom Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Installing such a small heliecoil is difficult.
Andrew Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Installing such a small heliecoil is difficult.Heli-coil works well and I found it easy to use as the baseplate metal is so soft.
