Ted Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I have been on the road to finding my best single coil Guitar/PUP set up.Geoff gave me a heads up on the EHX Hum Debugger Pedal. After looking into it a bit it seems like a good thing to try.If anyone has experience with it could you chime in and tell me/us what you think.BTW, While watching/listening to videos it did stop the hum, and seemed to barely color the Tone.Ted U
Carson_Utz Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I had a poor experience with the one I tried. It made a strange sort of flanging noise on the attack, especially audible with a lot of overdrive and distortion. This issue made it unusuable for me. However, this was one of the early versions. They may have improved it since then.It did remove a lot of noise, though.
tbonesullivan Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I like it, and got one recently. I use it mostly for clean stuff though, as with most effects if you really up the gain it brings out any little artifact in the sound. I did notice some weirdness on the ends of notes in some situations involving high gain. But, for those I would usually not use the debugger, but a noise supressor and hum-cancelling pickups.here's some more reading I used when i was making the decision to get one:http://www.tdpri.com/forum/stomp-box/196661-just-ordered-hum-debugger.html
burningyen Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I've read several bad reviews of it. No 1st-hand experience with it personally.
