Question

I am thinking of putting a Bigsby on my Newport Pro

So, can I get the aluminum shim and use the B5?

If I get the shim, can I use a vibramate plate to mount it?(this is looking like the way to go so far)

Should I just use a B7?

is there a way to check it the B7 Vibramate will be the right length fot the Newport?

Anybody done it yet?

It could be easier to swap guitars. Have you thought about that?

Yep, do plenty of measurements, and evaluation od the different options, then buy the best option and all all of the things you need to fit it, and set it up.

Then sweep them all in to the bin and have a word with yourself ;)

I've done this mod with a B5 and a Vibramate,,, very easy mod and it looks great since the Newport's bridge placement is set back more than a ES335. The same mod on the Gibby looks weird to me because their bridge is so close. I didn't get the shim when I modded the Newport and it was stable, worked fine though you could see the gap. It wasn't that noticeable to me.

The Gibson sized bodies look better with a B60 IMO. I used a B60 Bigsby with a Towner down tension bar so there were no new holes on the top and no need to fill the old post holes,,,, cool, eh?
