killerteddybear Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I have a line on a MIM Nashville Power Tele (with the piezo bridge) and I intend to replace the neck with a Warmoth baritone Tele neck.I plan to pull the neck and measure it and/or the pocket before I shell out coin for the new neck, but it 'should' work. What else do I need to consider to make this all work out?
murkat Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Pesocaster is Rob Rounds, He actually works at Warmoth. nuff said. dubbathumbsupguy
cmatthes Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 That's pretty much it. The Warmoth Baritone conversion necks are "drop in" replacements. I've got one with Stike now, and another one kicking around here. I recently sold a Warmoth Strat head Baritone conversion neck, because, well, who needs three?! Seriously though, those things may be the most fun guitars to play.
killerteddybear Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Sooooo...I bought the guitar (sweet) and ordered the neck from Warmoth.Kinda surprised that the neck lead time is 10-12 weeks.Guess that's the price you pay for build-to-order.
cmatthes Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I was fortunate enough to find the exact Baritone neck I needed - IN STOCK and on sale! It was kind of an odd build too, since it had to match another neck. Ebony board and flamey maple with pearl dots isn't the everyday, average, ordinary "stock" piece, but I got lucky and scored it for less than a new plain one. Those necks are REALLY nice... http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cmatthes/media/Telenecks2.jpg.html'> http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cmatthes/media/TeleNecks.jpg.html'> http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cmatthes/media/doubletele2.jpg.html'>
killerteddybear Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Wow, that will be sweet when it's done.
pesocaster Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Only thing you need to look out for is the neck pocket depth of the body (not including pickguard).... should not be any deeper than 5/8" (this can vary from the MIM stuff) ... if it is deeper you may need to shim the neck pocket.... otherwise you should be good to go!
