New Here II, Guitar Question(s)

Question

OK, here is the guitar that I had the tremolo inquiry about. (answered, thank you cmatthes!) What year is it? What model is it? What's it worth? Does it appear to be all original? (seems like it to me, but you guy's are the experts) I took out the pickups, one Seymour D. PAF, and another different Seymour with a faded sticker, but it's a 4 wire splitable. Both chrome covered, with cream rings.

Seems like a pretty sweet guitar. A little dirty right now but un-molested. The neck is good. This guitar will clean up nice and look almost brand new. Is this Nitro finish or some kind of poly? Thanks!

1996 Mirage Mapletop. Everything looks original to me (everything I can see anything). The finish is not nitro, but I'll let the the finish guys get into that can of worms.

The knobs aren't original, but that's not a big deal at all.

That looks fantastic!

Do you have the backplate for that one?

Thanks for the info atquinn! Since it's a '96 you're right about the finish, much more production friendly products out by then. I thought it may have been older than that.

Yes cmatthes, I do have the 2 plates, I think they are black anodized aluminum. This is not my guitar, it's for a customer. He wanted more than just the bridge "cleaned up" so I think I'll get the Wilkinson/Gotoh trem in chrome. Black pickups (secret), black trim rings, black speed knobs (unless there is something more suitable). 2 push pull coil splitting pots, same 3 way switch. Light fret dress, new nut, buff it out, done. The owner wants it to be a new guitar again, whatever the cost (won't take much). Still a stock guitar, he'll get all his old parts back as well.

Let me know if there is a better choice for knobs on this one. Thanks, Dave

Thanks tomteriffic! I think I know which ones you're talking about.

I'll post some pics when the guitar is all finished up.
