seeker Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Trying to get my 88 Chap up and running. It is one of the early Sustainiac models. Problem is that it is not sustaining. On/off toggle does shunt all signal to the bridge pup, but it just won't sustain. Not even a hint.Had taken the two batteries out a while back, and put new ones in. Anyone here familiar with troubleshooting them? ANY ideas would be appreciated too. Thanks!BTW, thanks for all the replies in the Floyd Rose tuning thread. Great info!
Bobby Marshall Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 You are local to Jay and he invited you over? Color me jealous. And don't forget the beer.
seeker Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 Gads, I'd love to. Even tho our states are adjacent, theres almost all of VA and half of TN between us. 650-700 miles.
carfish7 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Did it work before and does not now? If it has not ever worked to your satisfaction, it may need an adjustment of the trimpots on the circuit board. Here is a link to the usage of same:http://www.sustainiac.com/ga-1-2.htm
seeker Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 Yes, it worked quite well before. Thanks for the link. Will have a look.
carfish7 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Have you adjusted the pickup height recently, either the magnetics or the Sustainiac driver itself? I found that this also affected the function of the Sustainiac.....Changed string brand/type??
seeker Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 It's working now! I bought newer, mo better batteries which got it going. Changed both bridge and sustainiac heights which made it even better. Those links are going to be useful, cause am gonna start twiddling the trim pots. Thanks again.
