Boomerang~Junkie Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 I am interested in buying a USA Blitz with a 3x3 tuner/headstock set-up that is in rough overall condition for a solid starting point for a project. I’d prefer this be as cheap as possible because this has the likelihood of being an expensive project for me.A few musts:Straight neck with no cracks or repairs in headstock.Functional Truss rod.Headstock must be complete.Neck pocket tight and intact.Body not completely mangled, cracked or missing sections (cut or otherwise).Thanks.
carfish7 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Well, this would seem to be a great candidate then:http://denver.craigslist.org/msg/4133325592.htmlWe'll just have to bombard the seller and make it very clear that due to the fucking MOLESTATION it has endured it is only worth maybe 1/2 half of his asking price. Hell, the case (in what appears to be VERY nice condition btw) is probably close to that, right? Couple hundo for a super clean "oversized" unit? The guitar itself needs a serious intervention though and deserves to be healed.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Michael, No, but a really nice, USA, Standard (RI) is one of two models left on my, Hamer, "must buy" list - just not for a while. FYI ~ a four digit would just make me too friggin' nervous to pick it up much less ever play it. So those are out (unless I hit the Powerball). Carfish7, Yep - I was thinking the exact same thing about this particular horrific, Franken-Blitz. My jaw involuntarily clinches up when I look at the photos - what a hot mess. I can see about a dozen glaring places on that Blitz where any one of them should have triggered the proverbial, "Uh-oh, yeah this just might require a professional to un-f#ck this. I'd better STOP, I think I might be in over my head". But, NOPE that clearly was not in this guy's wheel house. I wouldn't even offer the traditional HFC three-fiddy for it, maybe two-fiddy MAX if the case is mint (with no cat pee or other issues) and he let me thoroughly dog-cuss him for molesting it in such a vile manner. Seriously, when I call this guy, I really will have to work to contain my shock and overall disdain for any nit-wit who would completely cluster- f#ck a perfectly good luthieary masterpiece (I may have just made up a word there ). A ten year probationary ban from any power tools as well as anything sharper than a marble might also be in order here . I'll call this guy and let you know how it goes. Thanks again for the link.
JustKid Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I got one of those, '83 red metallic with hsc. Never played it in the last 6 years, but never thought about selling it either. May be I should. Pretty good condition, cpl dings here and there. But that one will be pretty far from HFC approved price of $350. Drop me a line if interested.

Thank you Michael (and Brandon).http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-1983-Hamer-Blitz-guitar-Kahler-bridge-original-hard-case-and-waranty-card-/251385367103?pt=Guitar&hash=item3a87bc4a3fHey Scott,We can refund your money if you'd rather go with the one Jay pointed out.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Michael, No. I'm totally good with our deal, thank you for the kind offer though. FYI, I not keen on jumping ship and backing of business agreements like this for some other new deal. Aside from being dishonorable - it tends to bring you bad mojo. So, pack that bad-boy up and ship it to me! FYI - thank you Jay for the other post - I appreciate the help. I'd already bought Michael's Blitz first. Thanks again to both of you guys.
