Studio Custom Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 How does the knife edge look? If it is suspect, replace the whole thing. Also, the posts can get loose in their holes and wobble over time so check they are moving in their holes.

The posts can get worn down as well. On the plus side, if you know a bloke out your way who has the proper equipment, you can sharpen the knife edges. A bit of heavy duty lithium grease on the post will also help reduce friction. If it still does not come back to pitch, the posts may indeed be loose in the anchors. Easy replacement, Can order from StewMac or Floyd Rose or even Warmoth. Hell, I might even have a couple of extras. Also, check your locking nut- if the clamp blocks have grooves worn into them, the strings could be slipping a little. Again, easy fix- order a new nut.
Bennyboy-UK Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Right then I'll have a butchers, cheers lads
FrankieIII Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 This frequently gets overlooked. Make sure the locking nut is securely tightened.
Bennyboy-UK Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 The nut is AOK. It's a visible movement of the reset position of the bridge. Eg after dumping it, it's out, upward tug and it's bang on. Almost a mechanical amount out which makes me think it's the knife edges/bearing slot on the post. It's a very heavily used guitar so probably suffered from lots of trem abuse, and bridge height adjustments probably at full string tension.B
diablo175 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 New posts and get the knife edge sharpened, if possible.
