Anyone know of a decent wiring diagram for old school hardwire EMG '85/SA, 1 volume, 1 3-way toggle?

EMG's site does NOT have anything close.

Thanks!

same as passive pups.

pup leads to sides of switch.

lead off switch to volume

lead off from volume to jack.

follow all emg requirements in regards to battery, preamp, jack leads.

LOL I'm sorry Jay, but I'm totally a visual-type learner.

Yeah, I went thru them (a LOT of them) and didn't see anyone that fit my specific set up config.

Thanks, Jay- that last one might do the trick... providing I don't burn the f--- outta everything around the solder points. LOL

Let me know if that doesn't do it for you.

I had an install for someone a couple of years ago I agreed to do and the guy brought me a new 85 (plug in) and an old 81 (hardwire).

I dug up the diagrams from somewhere in all my junk and got it together - surely I can lay hands on it again somewhere (between ball games).

ETA: found this online, and this on the EMG web site:

Our pickup wiring color code is standardized across most models for simplicity:
White = Signal Output
Metal braid = both signal & power Ground
Red = Power feed (+9V) to the active electronics

So use a standard two-conductor wiring diagram (with white as the hot lead) and connect the battery to the red lead and you're good to go.

Awesome, this may just do the trick.

Thanks to you and Jay both!!!

Oh, Jay's the man, especially on EMG's. Consider me the supplemental understudy's understudy.

ETA: found this (the install I referenced earlier).

It's a Blacktop Strat with 81/85 set. Young guy played metal. For the total investment I don't know how he could have done any better.
