Will P90 fit into a Mini Humbucker route?

Was just wondering if you can drop in a P90 into a mini humbucker without doing any special routing. I did do a google search and that came up with some mixed confusing results. Hoping one of you experts can help me.

guitar currently has SD mini humbuckers

The answer is maybe. If they are true mini-humbucker routes, like on a Hamer Eclipse or a Firebird, then no. However, if they are routes like on an LP Deluxe, which are actually P90 routes, then yes. In that case, the minhumbuckers are actually in P90 adapters (like the ones here: http://www.guitarfetish.com/Mini-Humbucker-P90-Soapbar-Adapter-Ring-Kit-CREAM_p_1487.html ) and you can easily put in soapbars with no routing.

It's easier if you can find the mounting bar that goes under the pickups.

It's definitely easier if you have the mounting bars, but they're hard to come by. Jason Lollar has an multipart YouTube series on replacing P90's with minihumbuckers that's very well-done.

Then it's just a couple screws and a piece of foam.

I think Carl was going the other way, replacing minis with P90s...

Yeah, but I figure the video series can be useful either way. Just watch it in reverse

I was going mini to p90.

A korean eclispe with mini's to P90.

I am in the proccess of getting ready to strip the black paint just waiting for the dam polar vortex to leave. Thinking of filling the neck postion and just go with a single P90 in the bridge position. It 's possible it may get sent off to Stike for some sparkel, it will get a new bridge and wrap around tail piece and tuners.
