BlueJer Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Just listed my baby on ebay if anyone is interested.I am not a luthier, and didnt re-do it justice...so I am passing along for someone else to complete. She was my main squeeze for years but I lost the original nut and just feel it would be better with someone with a little more know how and drive!I am looking for a usa Daytona or T62 and would trade possibly with cash...Email bluejermusic@gmail.com
BlueJer Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 Look at this on eBay:Rare Vintage 1985 Hamer Phantom A5 Guitarhttp://bit.ly/1ppryJ8
cmatthes Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 It's actually just a Phantom A5 - "Prototype" is a completely different model of guitar.
BlueJer Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 Thanks for the info! Didnt realize that...
devrock Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 The paint stripping and loss of ser# is heartbreaking. Although, I'm looking for a template of this exact shape to build my own.... Hmm....
BlueJer Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 The paint stripping and loss of ser# is heartbreaking. Although, I'm looking for a template of this exact shape to build my own.... Hmm....It is, and I will never forgive myself. But, truth be told...it had a couple rather large dings in it, and the paint on the back of the neck was flaked so bad (looked like extensive play) that most of the neck was bare anyway. That and it was really annoying to play as you could feel the flaked areas.Plus, I loved it so much (because of how unique it was to me)...I thought I'd never sell. So, at that point I didn't care (was 22 yrs old). Now at 35 I realize 1. Hamers are effin awesome, and 2. I effed up bigtime by molesting this gem. But, there is still plenty of life, and I know in my heart that she will be better off with someone that has the time, money, and know-how to resurrect her. I have respected and played this beast for many years...and she has never let me down. But, now that I'm getting serious again, I want to downsize the collection and stick with a few main squeezes...
devrock Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 So..... with a winning bid, literally, at the last moment, this will be staying in the family. My plans for this are to 1) make this a template for future builds as I am finally starting on my path towards lutherie, 2) make a few changes so that it's identical to a GT 3) refinish it and rock! Hell, it's the next best thing, I guess, to getting my hands on a real GT (which I will always pursue).
BlueJer Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Sweet deal! Glad you won it...I watched till the last second I will be shipping this out tomorrow. I'm relatively new to shipping guitars, so any information you want to provide me to ensure a successful trip to you...I would appreciate!
devrock Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Happy to report this guitar has arrived safe and sound at my palace. I feel compelled to mention that Jeremy was super cool to deal with, as well. I posted pics in the other forum. Looking forward to the day I can call this guitar complete again!
