Here's what I believe to be a '72 Twin. The serial number is shown in a pic below - it's A 48389. See link below which dates to 1972...I can't say for sure, but it's a master volume silverface twin w/ out a push pull boost and w/ JBL's. So, seems about right. I'm sure somebody out there knows for sure.

Here's the link:

This twin is heavy! And also not a beauty queen...It's not really that ugly or beat, I'd say it's a 7 out of 10 cosmetically...no tilt back legs. Lots of bumps and bruises...but it truly sounds amazing w/ the JBL's. The reverb and trem both are lush and strong...the footswitch works beautifully. The amp comes w/ a reissue footswitch which I am using...plus it comes w/ the original which I've never used and can't verify functions.

The amp was re-capped and re-tubed about a year and a half ago. It's been played a decent amount....the tubes should still be good for a long while.

The best thing about this amp is that it's really not near as loud as most silverface twin's...in a good way I mean. It's crisp and punchy and cuts like crazy but it's just not super loud. I've got a Fargen Blackbird 30 that is louder than the Twin...but the Twin is sweeter IMO. The Blackbird however weighs under 40 lbs. I'd guess the Twin is 65 lbs.

The second best thing about the twin is that it is DEAD QUIET! No pops or buzzes...no humming or anything to speak of. Dead quiet, actually quieter than the Fargen Blackbird.

If I had room in my studio / office and didn't need a 2nd gigging axe - this would stay around. The JBL's alone are worth probably $425. This is a great old twin that will make somebody very happy.

The power tubes are Groove Tube 6L6's and the preamp tubes are mixed...Sovtek and JJ's mostly I believe.

THIS IS A NO SHIPPING DEAL!!!

I'm in sales and I cover the whole state of Florida and the company I work for is in Georgia....If you are in Florida or Georgia I will likely be near you and could meet up with you in the next week to do a deal in person. I also got to the Panhandle so if you are in Alabama and want to meet up...well PM me.

I'm a long time TGP, Hamerfanclub, and Heritage forum member and have done many online and in person deals...can provide ref's.

As mentioned, I'm up for guitar trades: I like Les Paul's, Strats, Tele's, Heritage guitars, Hamer guitars, Melancon's, 335's, Old Gibson-like Yamaha and Ibanez, Gadow's, etc...

Straight up Even Trade Value is $800.

I could add $250 to $500 max to a trade for a higher end axe. Hit me up.

You're killing me! I'm trying to contain my spending while awaiting the Shishkov, and lots of goodies are showing up.

I'm not trying to jerk you around, since I'm trying to stay out of the market. But usually vintage Fender amp buyers are interested to know the circuit identified on the amp, so I'll go ahead and ask: What circuit? The serial number range at the site you cited lists four possibilities.

I know, I know :)

I just don't know what circuit it is...no tube chart or anything. Who knows how we can tell?

Just cranked up my 73 blackfaced twin the other day..holy headroom Batman. These are cool amps.

FWIW, my 73 had the pull out master volume deal..long gone. My tube chart is also missing.
