Short String Screws for OFR

Question

So, in order to over come an issue with my Cali conundrum I need the shorter (33mm) strings screws of the Schaller but with the shank diameter of the OFR (3mm). Been searching on the web but haven't found anything yet. Short of finding someone who could mill the Schallers down or shorten the OFRs, (including restoring the pointed tip), I'm screwed. :P

Any ideas?

I have no idea. Must've been sipping tequila when I did that...

I never found anyone doing them exactly but i've known several people over the years use standard machine screws and just grind the tip to fit the block but i never fancied that idea much.

Schaller have a solution now in the 'Lockmeister' trem that has a steel base plate with wider gates in it but that doesn't really help on an existing trem.

Well, now I find out! I opted to try an FU Tone custom Floyd bridge with shortened screws, custom made by Adam Reiver himself. The only concern I have is going to be saddle travel. With shorter screws and the wider diameter of the hex wrench recepticle, there won't be a lot of range for intonating the saddles. This may prove even more likely given the supposed 1/16th" shorter distance from the nut the Schaller's supposedly have. A Schaller is designed slightly different and needs to be mounted 1/16" closer to the neck. If you replace it with an OFR, the OFR might not intonate properly.

ETA- one of the reasons I went with the FU is because it has a straight knife edge on one of the pivot points, like a Ibanez Edge. This neatly addresses the possible trem post spacing issue. The Lockmeister has the curved knife edge.

Does it make a difference? They are just pressing against the string block. Surely the reason is the tip may get roughed up and prevent easy removal, but is that going to be an issue going forward?

I'm very grateful for the help, Studio Custom but...

In my op I stated I need the screws to be 3mm in diameter, like the OFR style but 33mm in length, like the Schallers.
