Zoner Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I have a "spare" Mesa here that I thought I'd toss out as trade bait before trying to sell it outright on Evilbay. I'm looking for a local/semi-local(200 miles max) deal to avoid shipping since this is not a small piece of kit. Things that would interest me most would include any USA Hamer that doesn't have a Floyd Rose, with a dual hummer or triple-coil (Phantom!) rig being top of the list. I would welcome any P-90 equipped offers as well. I am located in Mpls, MN and can provide references if needed, or call me at 612-703-3990 with any question/offers. The amp has all new preamp tubes and is in decent condition with some nicks in the Creme Tolex, but no big tears. 30 watts class A from 4 el-84's and a switchable tube/solid state rectifier option. Although it is a "Dual Rectifier", this is not a metal amp and is fantastic for clean and medium gain tones. Let me know what you might have to trade or I'll take $600 for it if I don't have to ship it. Thanks. CJ
black magic Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 If that was a Dual Rec head, I`d be crawling all over it!! Good luck bro-Jack.
SouthernShred Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Guys, these Maverick's are one of the best amps Mesa ever made...if I were closer and I actually had money, I'd be all over it.
doody Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 How about a T-62? I live in northern IA and can drive up for the trade. A friend of mine says I am risking blowing up the world playing a gibson les paul through my fender cybertwin.
Ronny K Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Got any pix? I've got USA Hamer I need to move. I REALLY need the cash, but I'm always up for some FAT tone!!! I'm in NC so the shipping factor would come into play. That may blow the whole deal. Anyway, can I still see it?
doody Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 nope, just black replacement saddles without rollers. They were on it when I got it. It also had an ode to innertube flat black rubbery pickguard on it when I got it. I replaced it with a new one from chandler who supplied the originals. It also had some dubious wiring. Jason01 rewired it for me. The active electronics must have crapped out at some point and were replaced with a tonepot thus the funky mods. The pickups are the originals, I think. The trem arm is also a black replacement. The HSC is a tweed I bought from musicians friend.-edit to add- I recently bought a replacement tonepot, but haven't put it in yet as I don't trust my soldering skills(I have none). The one in works ok but, due to a broken tab, it had to be wired to turn in the oposite direction. The FM is stock.
Zoner Posted December 17, 2005 Author Posted December 17, 2005 Deal done, thanks for making the trip Doody! Z
doody Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Thanks Zoner. The amp is great. Way to nice of an amp for a hack like me. I hope you enjoy the FM special. On a side note, Zoner has the coolest Daytona I have ever seen; Birdseye chunky neck, mary kay white, tort guard, pau ferro board, just beautiful and great sounding too. I call dibs.
