mc2 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 What's the easiest and safest way to remove 40 y.o. dried Scoch Tape and dried on protective plastic film from chrome cover pickups? The covers have three screw holes in them. So, probably also need to worry about getting any goop remover I use down in the holes.I had another of these PUPs that I sold a couple years back and it took HOURS to get this crap off of it.Is there an easy solution ?These are actually NOS '70s Gibson TBird PUPs some dealer had sitting in a drawer since then.
DaveL Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Very cool... I find goo gone to be very mild... but I actually think it will help break down the scotch tape... you may have to soakit in and gently pick at it with your fingernail... like the label says, might want to test it on a less conspicuous area.
