P90s in an Eclipse?

Has anyone swapped out the stock minis for P90s? Would they fit without routing? I am seriously considering grabbing the Eclipse that is currently on the bay and dropping some Lollar's into her, but will pass if routing is needed.

It will need route for 100%. I have thought about this too, but it would be best to just get a p90 type Hamer and put in the P90s of your choice. That being said, if you find a cheap enough Eclipse, do what you want, but know that it will lose its originality.

Fortunately, if you rout for P-90s, you can go back to the mini-buckers that work with a P-90 adapter ring. Not the same as Firebird style pickups, but that may not be a bad thing.

Sure is tempting, I love the body style, but really want another P90 guitar, and I know the Eclipse, with its all hog body, is going to sound great w/P90s. Think I'll get in touch with my tech. and check the numbers.

I've been thinking of this too. Keep us posted. I have a photo of an Eclipse with dog-ear p-90s,looks nice.

I picked up an Eclipse a couple of years ago. Broken neck at the heel.

Someone took the finish off the neck and has a gouge or two on the back of the neck. Ugly as hell. Plays

great.

The repair has held well, I play it often. But , I, too, have thought about p-90s in there.
