Mesa DC and Mark IV - Built in Power Attenuator?

The Mesa DC series had 2 channels and the Mark IV had 3 channels. You could dial each in with its own Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, Reverb, Master. You would set the volume balance between the 2 channels. Using the Output Level you control the total volume output level without readjusting each channel.

Is that Output Level adjustment a built in power attenuator?

If you are really interested, the manual explains it better than I can. Thx gents.

Cheers!

Sounds like a master volume.

Yep.

You got your individual channel volume controls, and then the overall volume control. The channel volume also control the level sent to the effects loop, and in newer Mesas you can switch out the loop and the overall volume control from the circuit. Then the channel volumes control the overall output level.
