murkat
well, it is your guitar, it is up to you.that said...it appears to be stock, but custom ordered that way...and not many clean SS's out there...my 2 cents
RobB
I wouldn't drill for toggles. Have you considered a Schaller "Superswitch?" I had a MirageII with one and it had many sounds, although not the same ones as a SS.Or, if you can do without a tone control, add a 3way toggle there as "b" and use stock blade switch as "a." Andrew
I have to say that it looks like a re-fin as Hamer never left the cavities completely unpainted, and certainly never used foil for shielding. Possible that the orginal holes were filled and painted over: lift the foil and have a look.
wendell7
Does the current setup do what you want it to do? I'd leave it as is. It is a beautiful guitar. If you are really unhappy with it, I would be glad to relieve you of it ...
Greentail
ThanksI probably change only knobs and switch knob (round as a Telly)Painting , if refin, is very professionnal ! No digit numbers on back of the headNo black finish in the cavitiesTrough paint, only under the light, I see the original tone and switches holes. Is it really a special model ? carfish7
A SS with the boomerang inlays on ebony is pretty uncommon I think. Not a one of a kind, but not seen too often. Special? Only you can determine that. Since it has been modified in a pretty substantial way, "collectors" would probably think twice, but plenty of us here would rock that thing endlessly. An SS with Boomers is super cool. There are other ways to get what you seek pickup selecting option-wise without drilling new holes.

Question
Greentail
Hello
An SS arrives at home ...but wired with a 5positions Strat toggle !
Bad thing.
I think to come back to 2 original toggles, optimized
Toggle A : neck / neck + middle / middle
Toggle B : toggle A / toggle A + bridge / bridge
A and B toggles are 3 positions
I think it's more logical ?
Good idea ?
