Washburn N4 price?

I happened upon an older Washburn Nuno model and was pretty impressed by the build quality. It was a '93 if I read the serial # right and the body and neck were both solid Padauk. The raw wood felt amazing, and the neck was a very pleasant shape.

Do these suffer from the same malady as the rest of the Washburn USA stuff - no resale? Any idea what a fair price might be for this model? I am tempted to pick it up but don't want to get hurt if it doesn't stick.

Doing a completed eBay auction search shows a few N4s selling recently, a normal one for as low as $1,000 and a Paduak for $1,315, albeit it was a 2007. I'd feel safe paying $1,150 if it were mint.

I owned a 93 Padauk N4. Picked it up for around $500.00 in the early 2000s and sold it a few years later for around $1800.00. That was the first year for the Padauk model and it's historically been one of the more sought after models. Mine was heavy and had a fairly dark tone. If it is easy a 93, the serial should start with 93xxxx

The build quality was very good, not quite as good as the 2009 Davies re-issue I had, but the 93 has some better appointments (i.e., the Schaller tremolo vs the absurdly cheap OFR-1000 that all newer stock N4's have).

If you post some pics we may be able to provide some additional info...

Not really into the Nunos, be it Washys or not, but all I heard/read about the Padauk points in the same direction. Early models are sought after... Maybe my way into the model - if you buy it I might call DIBS...

And talking about reselling: I could not withstand a Washburn which entered the used market with 990 Euro and left it for my house for 615...
