'05 Triple Threat Studio, '05 Birdseye Newport Pro

I thought I'd ask here first before I go to "the bay..." :o:P

Anyway, due to some personal issues I'm forced to sell two of my prized Hamers. These are not Hamer guitars you see for resale very often. One is a Studio "Triple Threat" custom guitar and the other is a "Birdseye" Newport Pro.

As many of you know the Studio "Triple Threat" is a very limited edition guitar that was only made for 3 select Hamer retailers. This guitar has a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard (check out the price premium Gibson gets for that on Les Pauls...)

Here's a link to Jol's description of the "Triple Threat" (it's the 3rd article from the top, click on "Detail" below "View Selector"):

Here's some pictures of the "Triple Threat" I'm selling (click "View Album" button):

I'm also selling a beautiful, rare, Hamer Newport Pro that has a solid Birdseye maple top. This guitar has what I believe is an ebony fingerboard (look at the pic's) but I'm not positive (the only other ones I could find like mine both have Ebony fingerboards and they all look the same to me). I've seen a few of these, 2 or 3, and none come close to the quality of the Quilted Birdseye Maple on mine.

Both of these guitars have had the original pickups replaced, I'm not a SD '59 fan. They have been upgraded with arguably the best custom pickups that money can buy. The Studio has Jim Wagner's WCR "Fillmore's" and the Newport Pro has WCR "Dark Bursts". They both sound fantastic with these pickups.

Here's a link to Jim Wagner's website for info on the pups:

Wagner (WCR) Fillmore Pickups

Wagner (WCR) Darkburst Pickups

The Studio "Triple Threat's" sell new for about $2900 or so and the WCR Darkburst's with covers are almost $300 shipped. Based on that I'd like to get $2700, but I'll listen to resonable offers.

The "Birdseye" Newport Pro's sell new for about $2400 or so and the WCR Fillmore's with covers are almost $300 shipped. Based on that I'd like to get $2200, but I'll listen to resonable offers here too.

If you don't want the WCR pickups I'm willing to remove them and drop the price $250 on either guitar. Then I'll ship the guitar without pickups and you can put in whatever you want.

I'm sorry but I'm not interested in any trades, or partial trades. I need the money or I wouldn't even consider selling either of these.

Thanks, -Barry

No interest?

Price too high?

Worried about buying from the "new guy"?

I have over 130 all positive feedback on eBay selling high end guitars, amps, and effects pedals (I'm baj2k on eBay too). I have a confirmed PayPal account with ~35-40 succesful transaction for numerous high dollar items. So you don't need to worry about purchasing something from me.

Let me know... I really need to sell these and could use some constructive advise from the experts please.

Thanks, -Barry

Ok, well that was quick, I've been informed I'm asking too much so I'll adjust the price:

Take your pic... $2000 plus shipping (~$40 - $45 depending on your ZIP) for either one. I will only sell to, and ship to, the USA. Payment options can be discussed via PM or email me at:

If there's no interest today I'll be posting them on eBay tonight... I hate to do that but I really need the money. I won't bother you all with my sob story as to why... I'll simply say 2005 will not be a year my family will remember fondly... :o

Thanks, -Barry

Barry,

Sorry that your situation requires liquidation of such nice gear. Hope your sale goes well. The TT is something I would have been interested in, but timing won't allow it :o

Your guitars are fabulous. If you've followed this forum for awhile, you will know that although Hamer makes the highest quality products, and we all love them, their resale value is poor compared to the big name brands. I hope you get what you're after.

If you do end up having to put the guitars on eBay, I would recommend taking the WCR's out first and selling them separately; you'll get alot more money that way.

Barry,

I want your Triple Threat, I have to sell my Standard Custom or trade it to you. It appears that you aren't doing trades though. If I can sell mine...

Man that's one awesome guitar. I wish I could trade you but my wife got laid off and we really need the cash. Mouths to feed and mortgage... :D

I'd really love to sell it to a HFC'er, especially someone who's DEMENTED :D

Have you put yours on eBay too or just here? Might go faster on "the bay".

Best of luck... and "hey everyone" if you don't want mine please buy DEMENTED's so he can buy mine and the Hamer universe will be at one with itself... :)

I understand...been in that boat myself before. Thought I would have to sell my gear to pay the mortgage..but really..how many mortgage payments could you make if you sold a couple guitars? So I kept most of the gear and another job came around shortly afterwrds. Good Luck to you! :)

Barry-

What's the neck carve like...on the fatter side?  And what's the weight?

Greg

This is a tough one, I'd say it falls somewhere between a '59 Les Paul Reissue (R9) and a '60 Les Paul Reissue (R0) but that's just my opinion by "feel" not a quantified measurement. I can say this though, it's very comfortable for me to play and I have average size hands. By comparison the R9 is a bit "fat" for me but once I got used to it I could handle it. Once I played the TT the R9 went to "the bay".

As far as weigh, I'm not sure of the exact weight, and I don't own a scale, but all of the TT's I've seen are right arround 8lbs +/- <.5lbs. So I'd say 8lbs would be a good estimate.

In my opinion the Hamer TT is one of the finest guitars you can get under $3k. They seem to have that broken in feeling right out of the box, something that I find takes much longer with most other guitars I've owned or played. I will miss it more than you will ever know. My wife was laid off and it's hard to justify tapping in to retirement savings and such to make ends meet when I have all of these guitars.

I'll also be selling a Black Eric Johnson Strat sn:00269 (very low and desirable) next, a "pre-lawsuit" PRS Soapbox in Blackburst, then a Cornford Harlequin 1x12 Combo amp, a bunch of highend boutique stompboxes, and some Fralin Vintage "Hot's" and Lawrence 280's and a 290... and even more if need be... :)

Bump... the auctions are winding down... I hope all of the "watch listers" on eBay aren't HFC'ers just going along for the ride :):D
