Any studio One Users here?

Hey, 

I have a minimac that I am running Studio One Pro on. The Mac is just for recording, and I only connect to the wifi for updates. I would like to use my Ipad for the remote control. Can I use an Apple airport for a "network" that is not connected to the internet? Just to connect the Ipad to the minimac.

Can you connect over Bluetooth?  I haven't had any luck using my iPad to control Logic over wifi, just Bluetooth.  Can't get it to control ProTools at all.

hmm...

I'll have to check if the mini has bluetooth, I know it works through wifi. My problem is my "studio" is pretty far from my router so connectivity is shakey at best. I would like to set up my own wifi(sans internet) network. just for my remote.

The folks over at S1 have a great app for the Ipad, full of Keyboard shortcuts and editing controls. That was part of my decision to go with S1

Sorry to ignore your question, but...  Get Logic Pro .  Nothing compares on a Mac . Comes with iPad app

Studio One is great - a good alternative to Logic.  The remote app works for me over wifi in the house, so it should detect it no problem!

For PT Avid makes a free app simply called "Control" i believe that is perfect for using an ipad to control PT.  Great for hitting record while your behind a mic rather than the computer.  "Logic Remote" also works well for logic and the iPad

S1 ipad app is great for mixing as well. I have also found a TON of help on the lynda.com as well
