currypowder Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 After my search for an original case for my newly acquired Newport came up short, I decided to try other avenues. But I found that getting accurate dimensions of the inside of an ES339 case was surprisingly difficult. So in the end, I just ordered an Epiphone 339 case from Guitar Center knowing that I can return it if necessary. It was delivered today and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Newport fits in it very nicely and snugly. The case itself is ok, I've seen better. But for about $80 delivered, and in a size that's difficult to find. I'm pretty happy. My Talladega fits, too as it used the same case as the Newport. It's not quite as snug, but still a serviceable after market alternative. I'll post a picture later. I'm doing this from my phone and can't seem to get a pic posted.
currypowder Posted March 23, 2017 Author Posted March 23, 2017 You can see it's not a perfect fit. The upper horn pushes a little into the padding, but not too much. The body is fairly snug without being overly tight.
DaveL Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Thanks for the post. looks like a decent solution for the money.
hamerhead Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 I thought the body (not the horns) would be the tight spot. Good info.
