3-Way Switching Options

Question

Is there a volume pot that has a click to off position? I'm thinking of one vol neck and one vol bridge with no switch (and one tone, of course). If you want no neck, turn off the pot; if you want a little neck, dial it to 6.

Can you think of any guitars that operate this way? Pros/cons?

I typically play with bridge only, volume set 7-8 OR middle position with bridge at 7-8 and neck at 5-6 for presence. Why do I need a switch?

Thanks, Dan

I don't know about the click-to-off pot, particularly in common guitar K value like 500K or 250K, but ...

Maybe wire it like a J-bass, so either or both of the pickups can be blended into the circuit?

Like this ... notice two of the lug assignments on the two vol knobs are reversed compared to typical guitar wiring circuits. I'd also change that cap value to .022, especially if the two pickups are humbuckers.

I'd add to Jeff's suggestion by saying maybe a push pull for the neck pickup, so it can stay at the volume you want but you can just pop it on or off.  Never used a push push, so I don't know how well those hold up.

ETA:  George Lynch had a push pull on his ESP with a neck bridge and the lone volume control to switch between them.
