Looking to identify and find info on a guitar.

Guitstash

Question

Posted

Recently picked up a Hamer USA Strat style guitar with custom hardshell case.

It has HSS Pickup config with Vol/Tone and 3 Mini Toggle Switches below Vol/Tone.

Set Neck with Floyd, Candy Red Finish.

Unfortunately, having issues with uploading files (due to size).

Would love to find out general year/model/etc. regarding this guitar. Serial # starts with 616XXX

Any help is appreciated, going to try to get files small enough to load.

Thanks

Similar, has dot inlays, chrome hardware, and standard pole piece pickups (not blade).

I am guessing Chaparral Standard.

Much appreciated

Here is a very similar guitar, just with a different finish. This one does not have the 3 mini toggles either.

The one I have is a candy (transparent) finish, a bit more burgundy in it as well..

Just an added bit, the one without the three toggles is the second version (yours being the first). The more significant difference being that yours is Gibson scale and the later version was Fender scale.

You should be.

I was a little wrong I think.....the original run of Chap's didn't have the later Standard/Elite designations.  They were just Chap's and Chap Customs and all of them were set neck.  So the OP guitar should be just a Chaparral.

It's okay though, he's new and knows nothing.  I could tell him anything and he's got to believe me.
