hamerhead Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I came across a pile of old band recordings on cassette and would like to preserve them if at all possible (don't ask me why - most of them sound like crap!!).Can I go straight from my cassette deck into the computer, or do I need something in between?I have a fairly recent Sony deck with Dolby A/B/C/D /E?etc,etc,etc.... and my PC is 2.4 gig w/ 768 meg ram.ThanksHappy Easter!
alpep Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Can I go straight from my cassette deck into the computer, or do I need something in between? you can go into the mic input of the sound card not sure if it is stereo or not. most importantly you will need some sort of software to import the tunes. A d/a convertor of some sort.it can be done.
Lockbody Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Staight in. Most soundcards have a line-in and a mic-in. The line-in will be stereo. Windows Sound Recorder will do the trick if you don't want to purchase any editing software. I would recommend CoolEdit if you want good stereo editor at a cheap price.Just record "stereo/16bit/44.1k"
