Mccarthy Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Does anyone out there have any info about 1984 Cruise basses like build sheets or part manufactures they use at that time.
cmatthes Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Parts were mostly Schaller (tuners, bridges, etc.) and Dimarzio (plastics, pickups).
Mccarthy Posted January 24, 2022 Author Posted January 24, 2022 Any thoughts on upgraded tuners I’ve called around and no one has any idea. I even contacted Schiller in Germany and they blew me off
gtone Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 japarts.ca is the N. American distributor for Gotoh, which makes great quality tuners, bridges and other guitar/bass hardware including many Kluson/Schaller/Ping/Grover replicas. It's based out of Vancouver, so good value is there (especially with really soft Cdn$ right now), though lead times can be several weeks as most of their orders are coming out of Japan on a piece-meal basis. That's all I got...
crunchee Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Does your Cruisebass still have the original Schaller/Hamer tuners? I have an '85 Cruisebass, and the original Hamer-marked Schaller-made tuners are still holding tight on mine.
Mccarthy Posted January 27, 2022 Author Posted January 27, 2022 Everything is original honestly it’s just aged terribly. It’s shocking how bad it’s aged. I want to get it refreshed.
