1996 Hamer 2Tek Cruise Bass

Ham Rex

Question

Hello:

I recently bought a very nice 1996 2TEK Cruisebass in an awesome Metalic Green.

Now I didn't buy it because the seller said only 84 instruments were painted this color which he found out from Ed Roman's website or called them but I'm just curious if this could be true.

I bought it to play but also to look cool next to my 1996 Blue 2TEK 5 string.

I like that both have painted headstocks which seems not rare but not the usual.

Can anyone help verify only 84 instruments are painted this color?

Thanks,

M

There were not a lot but I’m pretty sure Ed pulled that number out of his ass RIP.

Early on the matching headstock was the norm for those colors.  Those early ones in candy colors were sprayed over a metallic base coat.  They had to attach a wire to the guy buffing those to keep him from getting shocked because of the static build up on the buffing wheel.  They changed the paint formula later.

Ed Roman was ALWAYS full of shit.

Now, he IS shit and is feeding plants - the world is better off.

Thanks so much! I'm laughing my head off.

The BS people will say for a sale.

I took the claim with grain of salt. I just liked the bass.

Thank you cmatthes and mirrorimij AKA Jimi Rorrim!
