I need a new project…

JGale

Question

What dirt pedal, overdrive, distortion, fuzz, etc., in your opinion works best with a boost either innafrontof or innabackof?

Take for example the Greer combo of Tomahawk (hard clipping red leds) into a Lightspeed (tube screamer five diodes in the gain stack, tweaked for lower gain) is supposed to be very nice. I have both and meh.

I want to build a combo pedal with order switching.

Thank you for you time.

Current setup has LovePedal distortion mostly. Red Tchula first, non-boost, always on - Sarno Earth Drive, use sometimes - Black Zen Drive II.

The Tchula gooses the Zen just right, can get a searing drive. Easy pinch harmonics and sustain. So, some boost into dirt is working for me.

I don't think this is what you are looking for but thought I'd offer it.

I love my Carvin Steve Vai VLD1.

It has 2 tubes, 3 settings can be used as pre-amp or pedal. Gives me every time I want except no fuzz.

I'm going to be revamping my 80's rack from a Pearce G-1 pre-amp to this pedal and a foot switch.

My Ashly FET-200 stereo power amp which weights about 35 LBS to a newer stereo power amp that weighs about 8 - 12 lbs and a smaller rack.

I have a Korg DRV-3000 effects generator makes it stereo with amazing clarity and need to work in a stereo Digitech DSP 256 XL. I have a battery I need to swap out.

At the end of signal before power Amp Stereo BBE Sonic Maximizer. Wow! This brings all the life into delays! The low end warmth and clarity from anywhere in the chain.

This drives my two Marshall 25th Anniversary silver/Grey  2x12 top cabs and two black 2x12 Marshall cabs

I love my Black Star Distortion (also tube)

Wampler Pinnacle V2

Bogner Large Blue Exstasy

T.C. Electronics Dark Matter

All great products
