  1. Lifetime metal fan here, but I was never a huge fan of the cookie monster vocals. I always thought they were GREATLY enhanced by effects and some obviously are. I was surprised to see what some people can do naturally with their voice along these lines though. Like anything musical, it is pushing the limits of the norm and that is cool and I can appreciate it. Many guitars have done that as we all know (since we are on a a guitar forum). So step back and recognize that your favorite singer probably can't do this whether you think that is important or not. Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, and like 100 other bands he formed) or Chino Moreno from Deftones are vocalists that can go from Sade-like smooth to some crazy stuff (but not cookie monster).
  2. Selling my very very lightly used Engl 2 channel 25 watt head. It can be loud or quiet with the built in attenuator and noise gate. KT77 tubes. It is like new, used for maybe 2 hours. I was looking for a simple setup for when I move. Turned out a fractal into a powered PA speaker was right for me, so this has to go. I use this amp on the fractal as a testament to the tone. It does great with cleans all the way to aggressive metal. I have the original box, packing, paperwork. They go for $1300 new and I am including a switch doctor foot switch to control channels, fx loop and mid boost functions. I will take $800 plus shipping or free pick-up in Bear, DE.
  3. If you want a reproduced one, I had a few extra made for something along the way. It was done by pickguardplanet.com How about $20 shipped?
  4. I will use any excuse to post a Machete. Now I have one. The PRS is bitchin.
  5. 20 word description for a $9k guitar and a pretty hefty neck pocket crack to boot.
  6. Letting go of another NOS Charvel. New in the box and glorious. The Blue Crackle finish is immaculate. It features Jackson pickups. (I imagine J80 or J90 Humbucker and J100 singles? I didn't want to disturb anything. Reverse headstock with reverse shark inlays. Rosewood board. German Shaller Floyd rose which is a nice upgrade from the JT6 the earlier models had. Still has the protective film on the truss cover. The pics don't do it justice. $2500 plus shipping. Once in a lifetime here.
  7. I am selling this on Reverb for more. I got a few new in the box MIJ Charvels. Listing the Model 6 first. It is pearl white with the active mid boost. It has a USA Kahler pro which is my favorite tremolo system. The arm is missing from the box, but readily available directly from Kahler. They are great people to deal with. Separate on/off switches for each pickup. I think that gets you 10 possible pickup combinations. People are selling used ones for much more (I don't know if they get their asking price). I know a lot of the appeal here is the new old stock part of it. I really like neck through Charvels and especially with a Kahler, but I just don't feel right putting it into service. New owner can do what they want. Details here: https://reverb.com/item/90930722-charvel-model-6-hss-1986-kahler-usa-nos-new-old-stock I will take $3000 PP/FF off Reverb plus shipping.
  8. https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/msg/d/bryn-mawr-robin-ranger-bass/7858849395.html IDK if this is a decent price for a bass. It isn't terribly far from me so I can facilitate if you make a deal and he won't ship.
  9. Gonna give it a shot here before I list on FB and maybe Reverb. This isn't just a paint job. The panels are routed into the body and real hardware was used for the "rivets" and screws. I won't bore you with the specs, hopefully they are readable on the pic. Built in 2018 with lots and lots of options , high end materials, and nicely distressed hardware. Coil taps for each pickup and pulling the tone knob bypasses the volume / tone I guess for a pure signal. It is one of a kind. Pics are still on the Schecter custom shop site: https://www.schecterguitars.com/pt-custom-fr-camo $3400 PP FF shipped to the lower 48.
  10. Another vid posted from 2008. @The Shark Is that your Koa Ranger on the wall behind Dave?
  11. Sorry, failed attempt at Blues Brothers gif.
  12. Another old school Robin video was posted. This one a kid's show. I was pretty shocked that they only made 300 guitars / year in 1997.
  13. I got a nice deal on a 2005 Wrangler Exotic top Koa. It is pretty flawless. It has a hot bridge single coil maybe a Muy Grande.
  14. I mainly play guitar sitting in my office chair. I put an actual strap on the guitar and stood up and I am about two standard deviations a crappier player now.
  15. The Lone Ranger. Surrounded by Machete's...what will he do? Be sure to tune in next week.
  16. I use funny ways to get myself to not buy a guitar unless it moves me on a higher level. "It is missing the truss rod cover", "If it only had a reverse headstock", "neck binding would make me buy this".
  17. That is fantastic. What is the story behind it?
  18. If one wanted to get in touch with them directly... https://guitarhouse.net/
  19. This might make for a nice pickguard.
  20. Picked up another Machete yesterday. Neck-through construction, beautiful ebony board. I think it is a 1989 but doesn't have the usual serial number on the back of the headstock. I had a 1988 Medley, transparent green, swamp ash top, mahogany body and neck, neck through, same pickups. I regretted selling that one until now.
