  1. Since the book was printed in China, it's hard to see how counterfeiting may be an issue....
  2. Not a "real" doctor -- PhD. My son, when he was little, would tell other kids that I was a doctor of books. As you can imagine, that really impressed the hell out of them.
  3. Thanks! I thought about making an extra thread, but decided not to since it might be better to keep everything together and the interview's not that long anyway.
  4. Thanks for the kind words, Zorrow, and everyone else. The support has been overwhelming! I did a short radio interview about the book that can be found here: http://wnku.org/post/local-authors-top-amazons-book-list-ultimate-hamer-guitars-illustrated-history I don't really get a chance in the interview to say anything most people on HFC don't already know, but at least the word about Hamer guitars is spreading further!
  5. Woo hoo! That's awesome. Thanks to everyone who has picked up a copy (or two)!
  6. Glad you mentioned this, Chis. I was thinking about ordering that book, but it doesn't sound like it's very well put together.
  7. Thanks, Steve! Getting a chance to talk to some of the folks integral to the company over the years (Jol, Jim Allen, Bill Kaman, et al) was one of the real pleasures of this project.
  8. Don't worry about it! I'm just glad I could help Steve get all the contents of those boxes and binders of materials out to the world.
  9. So great to hear people are enjoying the book. We did put a lot of work into it. I thought it turned out well, but it's nice to have some confirmation. The next one will let us get in all those things we couldn't work in to this one.
  10. Got my author's copy today too. The book looks terrific.
  11. Cool summary of your purchases. I don't know much about Westones, so this was informative!
  12. Her tone, playing style, gear -- none of it's my cup up of tea, but that's all a matter of taste. What I do admire is how she attacks the guitar with authority, and that's cool whatever your gender.
  13. That's true. My '91 Sunburst's neck measures amazingly close to the wide thin neck on my '92 PRS CE 24. My '06 Studio, on the other hand, is far closer to a '59 Les Paul carve. I have a '98 Artist that falls in between.
  14. I couldn't disagree more. I've owned dozens of guitars and my 06 Studio is the most resonant guitar I've ever played. The doublecut design gives it a little less low end than a singlecut, but definitely in the same ballpark.
