I have a bunch of these old (used) Tung Sol 12au7s.  There was a junkyard I visited about 20 years that had some tubes, and there was a 5 gallon bucket in the yard with a lot of those in it, I bought a whole bunch for $1 ea, at least 50 I'm sure, every one tested great. Unless I gave too many away, I still have box of them around here somewhere, I'll have to do a formal search sometime. 

I have wondered how many 'used tests as new' have ended up in spare boxes, and are assumed to be nos.

I have a shit ton of good old USA and Euro 12au7s….None of my amps use them though…
