Steve Haynie Posted May 23, 2025 Posted May 23, 2025 (edited) So, who gets the songwriting royalties, the person making the AI request or the people who license the AI software? If the software is given away freely, do the programmers have any claim? The music industry could do away with professional songwriters and musicians. Individual radio stations could just ask for a slate of songs that could be used as filler between known hits, and that could cut down the expense of paying BMI and ASCAP fees. svl Posted May 23, 2025 Posted May 23, 2025 I for one welcome our new artificial overlords... Best fucking new/bro country song I've heard. Good for the Terminators! 1 Quote
velorush Posted May 23, 2025 Posted May 23, 2025 IF that was truly AI (I'm extremely skeptical) songwriters are done. The wit and wordplay expressed is something not even many humans can conjure up. I find it nearly impossible to believe a machine could comprehend human humor so well, especially within the confounds of adult subject matter. 2 Quote

A judge recently ruled, in the case where a kid offed himself on the urging of an AI, AIs have no free speech rights, so owners, cuz the AI can’t complain. 2 Quote
