Willie G. Moseley Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 (edited) Lou Christie was a '60s discount heart-throb who specialized in hit songs/lyrics that were on the edge of scandalous ("and in this car, our love went much too far"). In concert his slightly erotic stage swagger drove grils crazy. One wonders how many teenagers--at least, down in these parts--lost their virginity thanks to him. He did several caravan shows in the South in that era, and would request specific musicians as backing players, including future Atlanta Rhythm Section members Barry Bailey and Paul Goddard. https://www.al.com/news/2025/06/chart-topping-pop-singer-dies-at-82-he-will-be-greatly-missed.html Edited June 20, 2025 by Willie G. hamerhead Posted June 21, 2025 Posted June 21, 2025 Now there's a blast from the past! Seven-year-old me thought 'Lightning Strikes' was a great song. Definitely a unique voice. R.I.P., Mr. Christie. 1 Quote
