When you are the OP of a thread you can delete it yourself. In the upper right, just above your initial post there should be a "Moderation Actions" link. If you click it, the choice to Delete pops up. Click Delete and the double-post goes away.

I just checked my laptop and apparently that action option isn't activated 🤷‍♂️
