MCChris Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 15 1/2 minutes, 14.2 MB file.If you're into this sort of thing, click here. This is among the first recordings from the new venue where we hold our jams. They seem to be much clearer and "hi-fi" than the ones we did at the Muse (same method, two condensors set up in front of the band).Check it out!
Guest pirateflynn Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I like the chorused laced keys. Good dynamics and the drummer is doing great stuff just like last time. Is that you soloing about mid way through? ...........Nice phrasing and excellent tone.

sirDaniel Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I either HAD or WANT a hit of acid after that 17 minutes....sounds great!
MCChris Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 Trimmed the file down to cut out the dead air at the beginning. New link in the first post of this thread and here:http://hereinliestherub.com/edits/06190602.MP3

MCChris Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 listening now, very herbie hancock headhunters sounding, me likey. Wow that's some high praise! Thanks! All the jams we did that night, trimmed and faded, are uploaded to this page:http://hereinliestherub.com/editsThe cool thing about The Rub is I'm probably at least 12 years older than the next oldest guy who participates regularly. The talent of these young guys in my area is impressive. I'm glad they're willing to trade punches with an old dude like me once a month!Between this and the Cult tribute band I gotta say I've never been more satisfied overall with my musical activity. It's a great feeling.
hamersandstrats Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 That jam sounded great-I like the main riff! Nice tone also, is that a JB in the phantom custom?

MCChris Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Nice phrasing and excellent tone. BTW thanks for saying this. IMO the two greatest compliments one can give to a guitar player.

Tolerating a hack like me is another. All of the guys that come out for these things are fantastic. It's amazing watching most of them switch from one instrument to another, and be just as comfortable and well played on them as they are on guitar.
