hamerhead Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 The other guitar player in my band has a Mesa Blue Angel (1-12, dual rec, road wear) that he's not using, and right now it's in my studio awaiting a stress test.If it works for me, what's a fair price?
Caddie Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I don't believe this was a big seller for Mesa. It was one of those that either you loved it or you hated it. I have a BA head and a 4x10. Love it. IMHO it sounds way better in the 2x10 combo or the 4x10 cab. If you have a cab hook it up and listen to the diff. Most common complaints: not loud enough, noisy (hissing sound). Personally I don't have those complaints. $$$? depends how bad its beat. seems that the going price on eBay varies quite substantially, like between $550 & $800. This is for the ones that routinely say "100% mint, new tubes, looks brand new, never removed from my smoke free basement, its my Sunday church amp", etc. A BA 1x12 combo after a good beating? $350 to $450 depending on the beating and noise level.noonan
BadgerDave Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Dave's Guitar in LaCrosse, WI has a 4x10 Blue Angel combo listed at $950. Looks to be in pretty good condition based on the website photos.
jerseydrew Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 check this out though I'm not sure how up to date it is.
hamerhead Posted June 30, 2006 Author Posted June 30, 2006 Well, after waiting all day to get home and pound this amp, I plug in to find it needs some work. The EQ didn't function properly, it sounded like a transistor radio, and after about 30 seconds I turned it off to avoid possibly doing more harm. I'm not sure what it is, but it ain't right.

The midrange control is not your normal midrange control. Download the manual from the mesa site. But it sill shouldn't sound like a transistor radio.
