Beergoblin Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 EBAY link http://cgi.ebay.com/Engl-Savage-120_W0QQit...1QQcmdZViewItem Well, I got around to really cranking and comparing my Savage and Blackmore, and at the end of the day they are similar enough for my needs where I don't need both and I could use the money. Plus I think I like the slightly more vintage vibe the Blackmore has.....so out goes the Savage 8) Amp is in great condition, the only thing worth noting is the leds that light up the housing aren't as deep red as if they were brand new, they're a lighter shade of red. No biggie but worth noting. The power tubes have been upgraded with Electro Harmonix 6550s which own in this amp. I do NOT have the footswitch. Amp will be shipped in the original Engl box and packed to the brim. $1600 shipped for forum members I'm still relatively new to these boards, so feel free to check my ebay feedback with username kids753. I also have many references from harmonycentral. Thx
kurtsstuff Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Hmm??...I ain't had one o them yet??...(pondering)
gregc Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Great amps. in fact, the perfect gigging man's amp, IMO. I gigged my Blackmore on the 4th. The Savage is all that, and more, if you need it. I use the footswitch a lot, as we move from heavy rock to blues to pop to motown from song to song. Either of thse amps and the footswitch system makes it effortless, and you won't need any gain or volume boost pedals.gregc
Beergoblin Posted July 5, 2006 Author Posted July 5, 2006 What tubes do you have in your Blackmore? I've still got the stock which sound great, but I've been debating putting some JJ 6L6's in the power section. Any advice?
