stef823 Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Anyone looking to trade a 25th Anv. Aritist Mah for a Trans Cherry P-90 model?Thanks,Stef
BadJaxx Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 if it's just that you don't care for the P90s, consider replacing them with mini-buckers...that's what i'm doing...
stef823 Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 Not a bad idea. It's just I have more P-90 guitars than I can use right now. What kind Minis are you going with?
BCR Greg Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I've had great luck with the Rio BabyBucker. Minor cavity bottom deepening is required, but reversing the mod is still no prob.
tomteriffic Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I finagled a pair of the stock Duncan minibuckers that you'd find in an Eclipse into a Special. The fit is by friction only and I don't have a better idea, but it's nice to have the two minibuckers on separate volume knobs, unlike an Eclipse. I'll probably put it back to stock, but it's been a worthwhile experiment and a 'big-league sound' was the result. I like it a lot. If I wind up with a spare P-90 Special, I'll probably do this trick to it and leave it that way.Wish I had a better way to secure the rings and pickups in there tho.

What kind Minis are you going with? i have a Dean Z with Dimarzio vintage minis and a Hamer Studio GT with Gibson Minis....love em both...i thought i'd move the Gibbys to the Artist Korina and get Duncan Seymorized for the GT...but i'm not sure now...i kinda wanted a hotter, bassier set for the GT but it sounds so good as is and it may be too much trouble so i might just put Duncan Vintage Minis in the Artist...i definitely want a vintage set for the Artist....just HAS to be a great matchup...
