MCChris Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Props to MuseCafeChris........limousine liberal........I like that. Mind if I use it? ;-) Go for it. I certainly can't claim credit for coming up with it.
Citrus Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 The bass player is timothy b schmidt - has been since Hotel Cali. The other guitarist was a studio guy from LA, did felders parts note for note.I saw the show last friday - was a little dismayed that walsh didn't play a little more guitar. Also not to defend the ticket price but they did have a 4 piece horn section at least 1 if not 2 other drummers, and 2 keyboard players.Obviously the $$ isn't spent on a stage show or pyrotechnics
Stike Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 and on pricing I'm firmly w/ Stike ( is he ever wrong? LOL ) Let's compare cholestorol levels and waistlines, I'm wrong Oh yeah I'd pay a hunnert buxx to see Randy Miesner(Sp?).
Guest Mike Lee Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 I saw the Eagles in 1994 at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. Tickets were less than $100, but not by much. Great show, all of the Eagles hits and all of the well known solo songs by Henley, Frey, and Walsh. Felder was there too. I never realzied how good a player he was until then. At first I thought Walsh wasn't there because he has short platinum blonde hair and I didn't recognize him!The Black Crowes are playing on Carb Day in Indianapolis. I was thinking about going. I don't care about the "hits". They didn't really play them when I saw them on the "Southern Harmony" tour either. What I want to hear is the whole second album - Sting Me, Remedy, Sometimes Salvation, etc.
Rockola Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 BTW,.....Stuart Smith RAWKS!!!!+1He was the hired gun for Shawn Colvin's Fat City tour and he could play guitar like I breathe. Bastard probably can sing like a bird.In college we had one suite mate that came to school with his entire record collection... Bob Seger Live and Eagles Live. That damn hayseed played it every weekend back-to-back for hours. Fricken torture. I had no idea the Eagles could have such an effect on 7 other people, unified to the point of absolute hatred. I almost wrote a Psych paper on it's effect. The Clockwork Eagles, if you will. Our suite catchphrase.I saw the Eagles last night,They were a terrible sight. They said "Jingle Bells",I said "go to hell"I feel better now,Steve
MCChris Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 In college we had one suite mate that came to school with his entire record collection... Bob Seger Live and Eagles Live. For your sake I hope it was "Live Bullet" and not "Nine Tonight."
Craig Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 I'm off the computer for a day and lookie what happens to my nice eagles thread. Some random hung over thoughts (BLS last night)1) SS can play his ass off. Simply terriffic.2) Mike - Joe Walsh did have blond hair, I couldn't figure it out until 3 songs later when I saw his face on the big screen.3) I wouldn't pay $100 to see the crowes, they happen to be my wife's favorite band, so I went. Yes,they have plenty of hits. Jamming is fine, but not when you haven't toured in 4 freaking years, play 4-5 hits. It's not asking too much for an hour and a half set, which incidentally, cut your opener short and play two hours if you want to jam. Fuckers.4) Eagles tix - $88 each, + ticketraper fees = over $100 per tix, $6.50 a beer, $6.75 to park. Three of us went. My ass still hurts.5) Buck up, or don't see the eagles. I was too young or not born in thier hayday, this is how I have to do it or I never get to see them. I never went to see the Who at MSG because they ironically lost page/crowes as the opener due to illness of page, so I returned my $110 ticket. Entwhisle dies a year or so later. 6) The dueling guitar solos were magnificent. I can't say enough good things about that show. Later and peace out!
