MCChris Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I'm pretty happy with all my effects except my Digitech Synth Wah .... it's allright but it has a sharp volume increase when engaged and the tone is a bit trebly for me. Maybe more tweaking is in order but I'm also considering something higher-end/boutique.Any suggestions?
mattb Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Believe it or not the old DOD Envelope Filter was kick ass. The Mutrons are supposed to be killer. And EH has the Q-TRon out now.
Ethan Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I think the Moog stuff and the Q-Tron are pretty much the standard.
mrhappy Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 The fanciest one I have is Xotic Robotalk. I've been using that quite a bit lately. It has an input for an expression pedal too. Also have older Ibanex Auto Filter/ DOD/ and the little plastic Dano auto filter(not sure of it's food designation). They're all capable of sounding good or bad!
MCChris Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 the little plastic Dano auto filter(not sure of it's food designation).LOL!The Emma Discumbobulator is lookin' good. Simple, small footprint, Make'n Music stocks 'em.
hamersandstrats Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I like the Maxon AF-9, its hard to get a bad sound out of it.
sirDaniel Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 you goin' right-brain on us, or what? You talk about MY prescription abuse. The fact that you even HAVE a PEDALBOARD freaks me out. Muchless one the size of Delaware.
mrhappy Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 They're all very dependant on the incoming signal relation to the sensitivity setting. I try to find the sweet spot where you can get the whole range you want with just picking dynamics. At that point they're very expressive and fun! Tried my Robo in the effects loop last week and had it sounding like a talkbox. I was doin' Frampton quotes all night....." I wanna F*** you" ... in every song! I've heard Johnny A use an expression pedal with his Robo and get some cool synth like textures.
alpep Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 mutron IIIWhat about the Pigtronix?yup the pigtronix is a really nice one too. In fact I use that one on my pedal board. the mutron III is the classic envelope that is the standard all others have to live up to. what is cool about the pigtronix is that it has more options than the III and if someone rips it off you don't have to cry.
