Hardrockracer Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Hi folks,I'm on the hunt for an Impact Bass. The one that Blades and Winger used, not the Jazz Bass Clone from the mid ninetees. Any offers with a fair and reasonable price expectation welcome. If you are looking to get rich from selling off your Impact Bass, don't bother to contact me. I have a mid ninetees Music Man Sterling Bass that I would trade in. This one's also for sale. If anybody is interested.Cheers,HRR
serial Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I'd expect to pay upwards of $1500 for one-they're fantastic (and rare) basses. Occasionally, someone who doesn't know what they have will eBay one cheaper, but they don't last long. Here's one that I got from Kip Winger a few years back-the first prototype...
cmatthes Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Impacts don't tend to sell for cheap - that's for sure. I don't own one and don't know anybody currently selling one, but have played my fair share of them over the years enough to want one (it just doesn't make sense because I really have all my basses covered!). They don't come up all that often on the open market (dealers, eBay, other gear sites), and when they do, there are usually a LOT of interest. There have been a few random Pawn Shop or GC snares in the last few years, but that might be a bass to sock away some $$ for if you really want one! I am a huge fan of the Sterlings though - my personal favorite "non Hamer" bass . As long as yours isn't Aqua Flake with a rosewood board, I'm safe!
Hardrockracer Posted October 28, 2006 Author Posted October 28, 2006 I know that they are pretty rare. I meant reasonable prices, not cheap prices as I am well aware they don't go for the $350.- . On the other side I am not willing to pay $2000 or more. There might be people who are not aware of what they're selling, but then again, if one pops up this whole forum would probably be after it . I encourage everybody on this forum who owns a Impact bass to e-mail or PM me if they ever want to part with theirs. @ cmatthes: my Sterling is pearl blue with rosewood fingerboard. Cheers, HRR
marcnorth Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 I've got one, plus one more. Got them both right here on the board. Just got the yellow one a couple of weeks ago.
