Stokesdead Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 Cool stuff!! Can you post more pics of some of your examples? I made this as a prototype. This a guy named Andy's design. I hope he doesn't mind me posting it. This style doesn't have a beveled edge so it is a little cheaper. ~Chris Stokes Ha ha ha, blue flame. I did a few of those I dont get it. ~Stokes Hey guys. I am making block style Marshall logos in Black/Gold, Black/silver, and Red/Silver. Price is $35.00 I can do custom stuff as well for not much price difference. Please guys let me know If you are interested. ~Chris Stokes Chris, What material are these things made of? Would you consider making trem cavity plates with some sort of logo? So far I have been working with plexiglass. Yeah cavity plates sound really cool. I have an idea now that you said that. I could have triangular cavity plates made with checkerboard design. Hmmm...... I wonder how thick the controlplate is on a Hamer? To be continued....... ~Stokes
Stokesdead Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 Ok I just took a close look at the control covers for the Hamer route. Looks like Hamer uses a .06 brushed alluminum black cover. The route looks a tad deeper like a full 1/16" of an inch. I think I could easily do a checkerboard design on .060 alluminum. It would be gloss finish though. What would look really cool is if .0625" plexi would fit in the route then the finish would have a real "depth" to it. I wonder if the thin plexi would be stiff enough though. Wow I don't know about you guys but if this works out, I think it would be an awesome way to customize your Hamer! ~Stokes

There's a coupla G&L guys with a hankering for a trem cavity plate with the bomber girl on it.

Im not sure if I could get all the details of her face and hair in cut vinyl. Maybe a siloutte of her or some sort-of print on vinyl. ~Chris Stokes
serial Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 That's not Hamer that did those-an HFCer did them (very nicely I think). They're etched into the original plates and VERY cool. I dont' think he's doing anymore though , so if you'd want to do checkerboard ones (even with a bomber girl, heck!), I'd dig some.
cmatthes Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I had an 8-string Standard bass that had a plexi backplate on it - it was really cool. Nothing on it, but you could really see how nice and clean the cavity and wiring were.
