halide Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 i have a G&L asat, 2000 model, mfd pickups, sperzel tuners, roller nut, rosewood board and (i am told) custom color gold-burst. neck is smallish and very comfortable. big frets in great shape, minor pick scratches on pickguard, very minor worming on the back, not through the finish and a couple of very minor, small dings, none through the finish. non-original fender branded case in 9 condition that fits well. serial number G039427. paid $750 8 months ago from local store (hang tag in case), looking for $675 shipped and insured anywhere in the lower 48 by fedex 2 day air, money order preferred. paypal accepted if buyer adds 3%.
Dumo Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Yeah it is. I had a clear orange G&L ASAT Semi-hollow, no F-hole, Classic Session III that I traded away. It's the only guitar I've ever missed. Nice.
cmatthes Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 That definitely IS a custom color. Very nice - ASATs are killer guitars.
halide Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 for anyone interested, mike lee informed me that this is earlier than 2000 by the 3 bolt neck and sperzel tuners.
Dumo Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Yeah, I was thinking that too. I think early 80's G&Ls are going to sky rocket in price in a couple years. I don't understand how crappy 70s Fenders are fetching the money they are. So crappy and heavy as hell.
thecajunboy Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 That definitely IS a custom color. Nope. That is Gold Metallicburst. It was a standard finish. It's cool as hell though. I've got an ASAT body that was a NAMM guitar here at the house in that color.

cmatthes Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 D'oh! I stand humbly corrected. Very cool in an Eric Dover way...
