collarguy Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 HelloA freind of mine introduced me to Hamer Guitars and brought over his USA Duo-tone. I'm hooked! If anyone has a USA Duo-tone they would like to sell please shoot me an email. thanks
holLoWskull Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Welcome to the board. Be patient as I'm sure some will turn up. Just educate yourself on how to spot a Korean Duotone from a USA one. Not that there's anything wrong with the Korean made ones, you just don't want to pay the same amount of money for one as you would for a US made one.
Kurt L Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 There's a Sunburst 3-hole Duotone for sale at the GC store on Anderson Lane in North Austin. It's in decent shape except the frets have a lot of wear.
Brooks Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 since HHB came over last weekend, i've got serious GAS for a LP jr, or preferably a hamer that's solid mahogany/wraparound bridge/thin neck, but w/ 2 pups. SOOOOOO, i'm considering selling my 2nd usa duotone. its been upgraded w/ rio grande bridge zebra humbucker (which is awesome), & GFS dream 90 (a phatcat clone, sounds better than the stock '59, IMFO), plus chrome pup rings and knobs. some minor player wear and hameritius but good overall shape, mid/thin neck, & beat up OHSC. i still have the original pup rings & knobs, but not the orig pups. $885 shipped cont usa. its on the right; edit: the pic shows the dream 90 as pearl; it didn't match the creme pups/binding, so i painted it w/ some creme modeling paint, its a pretty good match. i can snap some more pics if anyones int. here it is before chrome knobs/rings and GFS pup, on left:

I'm the original owner it's in excellent condition without any dings or scratches, just the hameritus & slightlty tarnished Pickups. The OHSC is perfect, the guitar has been in my back room never gigged. It has the mini humbuckers so it's not a les paul jr. but it's real close. I also really want a USA DuoTone & hardly play the Eclipse. Lou
Brooks Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 got some pics? whats the neck like?bkaplan at sandec dot com
Lou Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 got some pics? whats the neck like?bkaplan at sandec dot comI'll take some pictures this evening & Email them, my email is lou@usf.eduAs far as the neck profile, it feels a lot like a Gibson SG? Others can correct me if I'm wrong. It'sa great looking solid mahogany guitar, wrap around bridge & top of the line components.
silentman Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 The neck should be in the same ballpark as that duotone.
Brooks Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 sorry lou, no trades, i need cash;i'm buying jeffro's G&L strat.price drop on my duotone to $800 shipped cont usa.
collarguy Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 I was hoping for a gold top but I would consider it. Its a shame you had the work done on it, it looks better in the second pic. Do you have the original pieces, was the neck pup in the 2nd pic a rio?
collarguy Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 If Big Lou Backs down let me know. Get Real Eric. LOL
